Darnell Duncan is a versatile force from Newport News, VA, known in the music realm by his moniker Dolo Darnell aka Dolo Did That. Dolo stands for “Driven Off Love Only”, emphasizing his passion for creating music out of love and joy. With his diverse set of talents that span across production, rapping, singing, songwriting, and hosting, his artistry knows no bounds. 

Dolo's journey began with a love for the poetic essence of hip-hop, drawing inspiration from the likes of Nas, who shaped his approach towards lyrical rap music. He also idolized hometown hero Pharrell Williams, inspired by his diverse output of music and his daring to be different. Equally inspired by his older brother's pursuits in acting, Dolo embarked on a creative path. As an artist, Dolo blends traditional East Coast hip-hop with a Southern influence, reflecting the unique elements from his Virginia roots. With notable accolades, including a feature on BET Jams in 2019, Dolo stands out for his commitment to being multi-dimensional. His latest EP, "At First Sight" (2020), is a testament to this, reflecting Dolo's desire to break free from the confines of being solely a hip-hop artist and explore his love for R&B. 

Dolo has collaborated with notable figures in the industry, including Masego who is the featured saxophonist on "Third Eye", Michaela Shiloh (artist and songwriter), High Def Razjah who produced "Every Weekday, Every Weekend" (A$AP Ferg, Rae Sremmurd), as well as Grammy-nominated Dinuzzo who produced his single "Visualize (To See)" (Yung Bleu, Kehlani). Dolo Darnell is currently working on a self-produced R&B project, as well as a new hip-hop project with producer Andre Joyner. Continuing to expand his creative horizons, Dolo has plans to produce multiple collaborations with artists he’s connected with from both his home state of Virginia, as well as Atlanta, GA.
